London - A British family will soon be seen by television viewers enjoying their baby's afterbirth. The placenta, kept in a freezer since the baby's birth six weeks before, will be seen being sliced up, fried with onions, and then eaten by 20 family and friends.

The meal, which Channel 4 admits will not be to everyone's taste, is featured on TV Dinners next month, and is thought to be the first time a human placenta has been consumed on British television.
