Nine new cases of foot-and-mouth disease were confirmed by the British Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food today, bringing the total of confirmed cases across the UK to 524.
There were no cases in previously unaffected areas and the national total includes the existing case in Northern Ireland.
There were three new cases in Cumbria, two each in Gloucestershire and Northumberland and one new case each in Shropshire and Worcestershire.
