NIAMEY - Niger's military coup leaders, under intense pressure to return to civilian rule, freed the deposed president, Mr Mahamane Ousmane, and prime minister, Mr Hama Amadou, yesterday, state radio said. The two had been detained since the army halted Niger's experiment in multi party democracy on Saturday.
