The funeral has taken place of the journalist and author, Mr Niall Fallon. He was buried in the cemetery adjoining Riy Church, Killyon, Hill of Down, Co Meath, following Mass yesterday morning.
The chief mourners were his wife Patricia, his children Devin, Gillian, Garrett and Simon and his brothers Brian, Conor and Padraic.
The chairman and chief executive of The Irish Times Ltd, Major T.B. McDowell, was represented by a director of the company, Mr Derek McCullagh. The editor of The Irish Times, Mr Conor Brady, also attended and former colleagues from all departments of the newspaper were present.
