PARIS - Experts here yesterday named a new species of early man, a being with a body resembling man and a brain resembling that of apes, following the discovery of a fossil in the Chad desert last year.
The discovery, which could force scientists to rethink their theories about the origins of man, was named by the French Academy of Science after the region in which it was found.
