An information leaflet has been launched to provide assistance to families and friends of people who have disappeared.

When Someone is Missing offers pointers on reporting a person missing and advice for those left behind.

The leaflet is linked to a new website, www.missingpersons.ie. The leaflet will be available by contacting info@missingpersons.ie or 087 9087956.

Another website aimed at people who go missing in Ireland, www.peoplemissing.org, is already in operation, and the Garda website, www.garda.ie, includes a section on missing people.

Mr Robert Lynch, who co-produced the leaflet, said www.missingpersons.ie would contain information and links to other missing persons services across Europe and places such as Australia.
