The Minister for Labour, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Mr Kitt, has announced that Ms Carmel Foley has been appointed Director of Consumer Affairs. Ms Foley is currently chief executive of the Employment Equality Agency.

Mr Kitt said Ms Foley would bring a wealth of experience to the post and would make a major contribution to the advancement of consumer rights in the years ahead.

Ms Foley succeeded Mr William Fagan, who has completed eight years as director.
