Dublin's latest Quality Bus Corridor, from Whitehall church through Drumcondra and Dorset Street into the city centre, opens today. The Dublin Transportation Office says the 1.9-mile lane will reduce bus journey times from 30 minutes to 22 and will be able to carry 1,100 extra commuters in morning and evening peak times. Twelve new buses will meet the extra capacity. The DTO says 40,000 commuters use the route every week. There are seven QBCs on Dublin routes, the of which opened two weeks ago from Rathfarnham into the city.
