Naval headquarters are to be transferred from the Department of Defence in Dublin to Haulbowline Naval Base in Cork Harbour in line with the Price Waterhouse Review recommendations, the Minister for Defence, Mr Smith, confirmed yesterday.
Mr Smith said it made sense to locate Naval HQ at Haulbowline in conjunction with other Naval Service operations and he confirmed he was committed to obtaining the £195 million recommended for the Defence Forces by Price Waterhouse.
