National library appoints director

Business consultant and UCD lecturer Fiona Ross has been appointed as the new Director of the National Library of Ireland.

Business consultant and UCD lecturer Fiona Ross has been appointed as the new Director of the National Library of Ireland.

Ms Ross, who will take up her three-year posting in March, was described by the library's board as an expert in the field of leadership and governance.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Ross said: “This is a unique opportunity to apply my experience to help address the challenges the Library faces and to reinforce its core mission and commitment to the Irish people.”
