New Delhi - The Tibetan government in exile criticised the US media mogul, Mr Rupert Murdoch, yesterday for "petty" comments he made recently about the Dalai Lama and Tibetan culture. "We feel that Mr Murdoch's comments were unnecessary and very petty," the Information and International Relations Minister, Mr T.C. Tethong, said in Dharamsala. In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Mr Murdoch commented on the Dalai Lama, saying: "I have heard cynics who say he's a very political old monk shuffling around in Gucci shoes." Mr Murdoch went on to question whether Tibetan culture was ever worth preserving.
