THE theme music from the film The Bodyguard was played yesterday at the funeral of Peter Judge, the drug dealer shot dead in Dublin at the weekend.

Along with Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, Belle Midler's The Rose was played to the congregation of about 250 at the funeral in St Canice's Church, Finglas, Dublin.

On behalf of Mr Judge's mother, Eileen, Father Paul Thornton thanked the congregation for the support they had shown the family over the last three days. A relative read from Ecclesiastes (... "a time to kill, a time to heal ..

Peter Judge, who was buried at Glasnevin Cemetery, was considered the main drug dealer in Cabra, Finglas and Ballymun and was a suspect in at least two murders. He was shot twice in the head at close range as he sat in a car outside the Royal Oak public house in Finglas early last Sunday morning.

Gardai have appealed for anyone who was in or near the public house from about midnight on Saturday to contact them at Cabra station (tel: 838 9531).
