New Sunday parking arrangements for the centre of Dublin went into operation yesterday.
"We decided to issue warning notices for infringement of meter times to give people time to get used to the idea," a spokeswoman for Dublin Corporation's traffic department said. "We wanted to give the public plenty of notice."
The corporation has yet to decide whether penalties will be imposed from next Sunday, but the spokeswoman felt that they probably would not - to give people time to adjust to the new parking norms.
