Armagh Coroners Court was told yesterday that a young English motorcyclist died instantly when he hit a succession of concrete posts during the final lap of last year's Tandragee 100 Road Race.

Aircraft mechanic Daniel Humphries (22), of Gastang, Lancashire, struck the posts when he came off his Honda 250cc motorbike. Medical evidence showed he had sustained serious head injuries. Coroner Mr James Rodgers described his death as a "bitter blow" to family and friends.
