Motion seeks changes to Bill

An emergency motion demanding a series of amendments to the Education Bill was carried by TUI delegates. The union is demanding that nothing in the proposed Act would alter the conditions under which teachers and other staff were employed. Other demands include statutory representation of teachers on Vocational Education Committees and an indemnity against legal action for teachers carrying out their duties.
