Tim Montgomery sensationally crashed out of tonight's 100 metres final at the Norwich Union London Grand Prix after falling out of his starting blocks in his heat in.
It was another nightmare for the the world record holder who on Tuesday night finished an embarrassing sixth in Stockholm.
With the world championships looming rapidly, the form which earned the American the world record of 9.78secs has totally deserted him.
Montgomery finished sixth in his heat which was won by Commonwealth champion Kim Collins in a personal best time of 9.97secs.
Behind the St Kitts sprinter were the American pair of Justin Gatlin and Bernard Williams in 10.03secs and 10.04secs respectively.
Fourth-placed Mark Lewis-Francis made the final as a fastest loser, finishing in a time of 10.09secs.
Montgomery would not speculate on whether he would withdraw from the World Championships in Paris.
"It was my mistake coming out of the blocks," said Montgomery. "I have to make a decision with my coach."
