Having developed their own little cult following over the last eight years by performing every Monday night at the Comedy Cellar, the Dublin Comedy Improv team have now got themselves a second residency: from next Tuesday they'll be playing at the Sugar Club, Leeson Street, on a weekly basis.

You should know the score by now: the audience members dictate the content of each and every show by shouting up suggestions (location, characters, plot etc;) to the team, who then try to fashion something comic of the raw material. It can be a very hit-and-miss affair - at its best improv can be exhilarating, at its worsts it reeks of an inane Victorian parlour game.

The improv team - Ian Coppinger, Michelle Read, Brendan Dempsey, Joe Rooney, Paul Tylak and Tara Flynn - are a mix of stand-ups and actors/actresses. Go along and try to outwit them at the Sugar Club, you soon get into the swing of things and learn how to participate properly.
