MOSCOW - The US embassy here has said it doubts that around £1.8 million cash reported stolen at Heathrow Airport was American aid bound for Russia.

"This story is not credible to us," said US embassy spokesman Mr Richard Hoagland. Scotland Yard said that the cash last from a high security cargo compound at Heathrow Airport moments before it was to be loaded on to a BA flight to Moscow.
