A major search of the sea and harbour at Wicklow town for a missing man was called off after he was located safe and well. Fears for his safety had been expressed after he went missing on Friday at 8.30am and his car was found in the harbour area.

The man, in his late 30s, had been involved in a different Garda search two days earlier after removing his three children from school an hour after he had brought them there. Then he crashed his car into a roundabout outside Rathnew, but the children were unhurt. He was arrested, brought to Wicklow Garda station and received medical attention before being released.
