Microsoft has agreed finally to take steps to comply with the European Commission's landmark 2004 antitrust decision against it, the EU executive said today.
The commission said it "has ensured that Microsoft will now take the necessary steps to comply with its obligations under the commission's 2004 decision".
In a major turning point, Microsoft will make available to "open source" software developers the
information they need so their programmes work smoothly with Microsoft's Windows.

Microsoft has also sliced high royalties, which it had until now insisted upon, for interoperability information, the EC said.
