THE payment of £400,000 by the Government to the advertising agency QMP in the last days of December appeared to be in defiance of the Supreme Court ruling on the divorce information campaign, the Green Party MEP, Ms Patricia McKenna, has said.

Ms McKenna, who took the case, said she would be deciding after further consideration this week what action she should take.

She called on the Government to confirm the report in Saturday's Irish Times that the £400.000, £50,000 of it in fees to QMP, was paid in late December.
