Racing:Tony McCoy will have a "quiet week" as he continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in a fall at Taunton on Friday.
The perennial champion jockey broke his ribs when the Nicky Henderson-trained Laudatory came to grief at the last in the Steve Logan Memorial County Contractors Handicap Hurdle.
After undergoing further tests at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, McCoy’s personal assistant Gee Armytage confirmed he will be spending the next few days recuperating.
She said: “He spent last night in hospital and had tests done which confirmed the broken ribs and also bruising on the lungs.
“Even by his standards he will have a quiet week and won’t be riding, and he’ll go and see the doctor again next week.”
McCoy later expressed his pleasure at being released from the hospital and now hopes for a speedy return.
He tweeted: “Thankfully at long last I’ve got out of hospital I have broken a few ribs and I am kinda sore but I will hopefully be back racing very soon.”
