Mick McCarthy has said he would be able to select from at least 21 players for Wednesday’s match with Germany with only Jason McAteer remaining a doubt.
Goalkeeper Shay Given, right back Steve Finnan and central defender Gary Breen all picked up slight problems during Saturday’s draw with Cameroon and didn't train today.
However, McCarthy has stressed that all three would be fit for Wednesday’s crucial encounter with a German side who put eight past Saudi Arabia over the weekend.
"All three players who didn't train today will be fit come match day and therefore available for selection," he said.
"That is a piece of welcome news for any coach though it does pose its own sort of problem," he added.
After a forgettable preparation to these finals, Ireland's spirits soared following a hugely encouraging second-half performance against the African champions but manager Mick McCarthy couldn't hide his lingering irritation at that the Roy Keane saga seemingly refuses to die completely.
"I wish I could have a good Monday," he opined. "I am fed up with the circus that has been carrying on for the past two weeks.
Although McCarthy admitted to still being rankled, he said the rest of the squad were in high spirits - even those unlikely to play against Germany in Ibaraki.
"The whole group is on terrific form, even those guys who are likely not to start the match on Wednesday - they aren't sulking.
"In fact they are as buoyant as the others and are helping them build themselves up for the German clash.
"They certainly don't want to go home because they're not first choices. They know for morale to stay high they have to remain bright and breezy," he added.
