Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian prosecutors brought a mattress with suspected semen stains into a courtroom yesterday as a police officer claimed the ousted deputy prime minister, Mr Anwar Ibrahim, gave his consent to be tested for HIV.

Police said they seized the mattress as part of their investigation into allegations that he had sex with the wife of his private secretary and fathered her child.
