A group representing 2,400 households in Marino has called on Dublin Corporation and the National Roads Authority to abandon plans to route the Dublin Port Access Tunnel under the area.

A spokesman for the Marino Development Action Group cited the "damning report" of the British Health and Safety Executive on the proposed tunnelling method and called for a complete re-evaluation of the project.
