Manufacturing prices fall by 0.3% in October

Factory gate prices have fallen by 0

Factory gate prices have fallen by 0.3 per cent in October, according to figures released today by Central Statistics Office (CSO).

Year on year manufacturing prices fell by 0.4 per cent.

The monthly index for export sales decreased by 0.6 per cent, and the index for home sales rose by 0.4 per cent in the month.

Contributing to the monthly change were decreases in meat and meat products - which fell 2.2 per cent and other food products which fell 0.5 per cent.

The main decreases which contributed to the annual change were pharmaceuticals and other chemical products, which fell 6.1 per cent, and radio and television equipment, which dropped 10 per cent.
