An Antrim man has opted to return to Northern Ireland where he is due to stand trial for the alleged murder of a mother of four who was fatally stabbed in Belfast in 2004.
Lawyers for Mr Thomas Graham (42), Cavendish Square, Belfast, said their client had been arrested and charged in this jurisdiction with the murder of Ms Geraldine Kane (47) at Cavendish Square, Belfast.
The body of Ms Kane, from Dermott Hill parade, was discovered at a house in Cavendish Square in the Falls Road area on July 19th, 2004.
Detective Sgt John McDermott of the PSNI told Justice Paul Carney at the the Central Criminal Court today that the accused had exercised his right to trial in either jurisdiction had opted to return to Northern Ireland.
A warrant for his arrest issued by the Belfast Magistrates Court was handed into the court.
Mr Justice Carney granted the order allowing the accused to return to Northern Ireland.
