A Scottish man arrested after being found rummaging in bins in Dublin threatened to commit suicide after he was remanded in custody yesterday. Mr Archibald Wardlaw (37), of North Circular Road, Dublin, was charged under the Public Order Act on Monday night with breach of the peace and entering a portal at Cabra Park.

Judge William Earley ordered him remanded in custody until tomorrow so gardai could verify his address. It is understood he was to be placed in a special observation unit of Mountjoy Prison.
