Man shot dead in Limerick

A man in his 30s has died after he was fatally shot in Garryowen, Co Limerick at around 2.45pm this afternoon.

A man in his 30s has died after he was fatally shot in Garryowen, Co Limerick at around 2.45pm this afternoon.

Gardai said the man died after a number of shots were fired at him by the front seat passenger of a black sports car.

The shooting is believed to be gangland related.

The scene has been preserved pending an examination from the Garda Technical Bureau and a post mortem will be carried out following the arrival of the State Pathologist.
