A man who was shot dead in Cork City last night has been named.
He was Kieran O'Flynn, 39, from Thorndale Estate, Dublin Hill, in the north of the city. The incident occurred atat around 11.15 p.m. last night.
Mr O'Flynn was taken to the Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The area of the shooting was sealed off today as a garda investigation continued.
A motive for the killing had still to be established, but the man who was shot was said to have been known to gardaí.
