Gardai are investigating an overnight shooting in Limerick in which a 26-year-old man was seriously injured .
The man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the attack at around 2.15 a.m.
The victim made his way to a nearby house at St Ita's Street in the St Mary's Park area, and then taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.
Detectives at Henry Street are investigating.
