A young man suffered serious head injuries in Co Longford last night after a brick was thrown at his head following a fracas.
The incident happened in St Mathews Park, in in Ballymahon in Co Longford between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The injured man, who was from the town, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar. He was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin after his condition deteriorated.
Garda%iacute; in Longford have asked anyone with information to contact them.
