A man has been remanded in custoday charged in connection the shooting of a nightclub bouncer in west Dublin on Sunday morning.

Wayne McNally (23), Ross Road, Dublin 8, was charged with possession of a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol with intent to endanger life.

Kilmainham District Court heard that he made no reply when charged at Clondalkin Garda Station last night.

Mr McNally was granted legal aid and there was no application for bail.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next week.

The injured doorman (38)  was shot as he worked on the door of the Hush nightclub at the Red Cow Inn, Naas Road, Clondalkin, Dublin. He is said to be making a good recovery.
