A man has appeared in court following a stand-off with gardaí in Cork at the weekend.
The man appeared before a special sitting of the District Court and was remanded until tomorrow.
Two people were arrested in connection with the incident in which gardai were threatened with what appeared to be a handgun after they were called to a house on John Redmond Street in Cork city on Saturday night.
They were confronted by the two men, and the Armed Regional Support Unit was called in.
Gardaí arrested two people just after midnight, and one of the men was later released without charge.
