Man remanded on murder charges

A Co Tipperary man charged with the murder of his parents was further remanded yesterday at Limerick District Court. Mr Martin Doherty (25), Grattan Court, St Lelia Street, Limerick, is charged with the murder of William Doherty (57), a retired garda, and his wife, Theresa (49), at their home in Monadreen, Thurles, last September 21st. He was further remanded in custody to the Central Mental Hospital, Dundrum, until February 9th.
