A man arrested for withholding information about a shooting incident at his home has been released without charge.
The incident began at around 9.30 p.m. on Friday when two armed men broke into his house in Melrose Park, Swords, Co Dublin. The men held a woman and her young daughter hostage at the house until her partner came home.
When he arrived, a struggle ensued and two shots were fired. The intruders fled the scene. The man was later treated for a minor head injury before being arrested and taken to Coolock Garda station.
