Man questioned over Limerick shooting

A man (20) is being questioned this morning over a shooting in a Limerick housing estate.

A man (20) is being questioned this morning over a shooting in a Limerick housing estate.

The victim (21), named locally as Ian Brennan from St Mary's Park, Limerick, was shot twice near his home at 1am yesterday and is in a critical condition in hospital.

He was shot in the back and abdomen by a gunman on St Munchin's Street.

A man (20) was arrested shortly after the shooting and is being questioned at Henry Street Garda station.

Gardaí do not believe the shooting was feud-related, and it is understood the victim's attacker was known to him.
