Man questioned over fatal Cork stabbing

Gardaí are today questioning a man in his 20s in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cork last weekend.

Gardaí are today questioning a man in his 20s in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cork last weekend.

Eddie Gallagher (27), from Ardcullen in Hollyhill on Cork’s northside, was fatally stabbed during a row on Friar’s Walk on the city’s southside at about 6.30am on Sunday. He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he died at 8am.

Gardaí arrested the man on the north side of Cork city today. He is being held in the Bridewell station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
