A man appeared in court yesterday on charges of assaulting Lord Rosse, of Birr.
Mr Trevor O'Shea (19) of Bulfin Park, Birr, who is charged with assaulting Lord Rosse Brendan Parsons on March 5th at Oxmantown Mall, Birr, was remanded in custody to St Patrick's Institution. He was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on the same date.
Mr O'Shea is due to appear before Judge O'Sullivan again at Ballyforan, Co Roscommon, on Wednesday.
After reading a psychiatric report on the accused man yesterday, the judge indicated he would consider releasing him if he produced a letter from a psychiatric hospital regarding his treatment for alcohol and drug abuse.
