A Dublin man has been charged with attempting to murder his wife

A Dublin man has been charged with attempting to murder his wife. Mr David McDaid (35), of Gracepark Court, Drumcondra, was charged at Dublin District Court with the attempted murder of Ms Dymphna McDaid at a horse-riding school in Surgalstown, Swords, Co Dublin, on March 29th. He was also charged with assault, causing serious harm.

Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick remanded him in custody with consent to independent bail of £3,000. He ordered that he surrender his passport, sign on daily at Ballymun Garda station and not go within five miles of the family home. He also ordered that the accused man should have no contact with the injured party.
