A jury has found a north Co Louth man not guilty of sexually assaulting his niece in his attic

A jury has found a north Co Louth man not guilty of sexually assaulting his niece in his attic. The jury took just over two hours to reach a unanimous verdict at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after a four-day trial.

The 45-year old married man had pleaded not guilty to two charges of sexually assaulting his niece on dates unknown between 1986 and 1997.
