The man killed when the car he was driving was involved in a head-on crash with a van has been named as Mr Matthew Delaney (29) from Clara, Co Offaly.
Two people are in a serious condition in hospital after the car and van collided in Co Westmeath in the early hours of the morning.
The crash happened at 3 a.m. near Moycashel on the Kilbeggan road.
The other occupants of the van were injured but not seriously. They are being treated at Tullamore Hospital.
