A Nigerian man who used a stolen credit card to buy £786 worth of property was jailed for eight months in Swords District Court yesterday. Robert Oluwayose Johnson (33) of Dorset Street, Dublin 1, pleaded guilty to five charges of falsely obtaining mobile phones, electrical equipment, clothes and drink from shops in Drogheda and Balbriggan on March 24th.

Garda Damien O'Connell said Mr Johnson had been operating under two different names in Ireland. The other man had a conviction for fraud in England. "It's obvious he was involved in a web of deceit and fraud," said Judge Sean Delap.
