AN unemployed man was charged at a special court in Craigavon yesterday with wearing a mask to conceal his identity at Roundabout 4 on July 8th. He was also charged with possession of a crossbow on the same date and with disorderly behaviour, both allegedly at Roundabout 4.

An RUC officer said that when arrested on July 9th, Mr Robert Andrew Murphy (19), of Parkmore, Craigavon, replied: "Not guilty" to wearing a mask, "guilty" to having a crossbow, and "not guilty" to the charge of disorderly behaviour Magistrate Paul McRandal remanded Mr Murphy in custody to a court sitting at the Maze prison on July 31st.

Appearing at the same special court was Mr Robert Alexander Maguire (23), unemployed, Glenavon Crescent, Lurgan. He faces five charges including one that alleges that by force or threat he tried to interfere with the control of a police car at Lurgan on July 9th.

An RUC constable stated that when arrested, on July 9th Mr Maguire replied to none of the charges. He was remanded in custody to a sitting of a court in the Maze prison on July 31st.
