A man found dead in the car park of Wexford General Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning died of a suspected drug overdose, according to gardai.

Mr Alan Wright (35), of Cromwellsfort, Wexford, a father of two children, was discovered by hospital ambulance staff in the back seat of his BMW car at about 4 a.m. A post-mortem examination was carried out on Saturday and an inquest is due to be held at a later date.

The vehicle was parked on the roadway leading to the hospital ambulance station. Ambulance crew became suspicious as they passed the parked vehicle.
