A man was charged in Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday with possessing a gun, explosives and documents. The alleged discovery of the items at a house in west Belfast last December led to a two-day stake-out by the RUC. Mr Brendan Thomas McCann (24), from Dermott Hill Road appeared on three charges alleging unlawful possession between September, 1st and December 28th. A detective said Mr McCann made no reply to the charges and he was remanded in custody until February 26th.
