A man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted in his Dublin home last night by two armed and masked men.
The incident took place in a house in Ailsbury in Tallaght. The raiders forced their way into a house and threatened a 15-year-old old babysitter at around 11.30 p.m.
They waited until the owners of the house returned some two hours later and then tied up the husband and wife.
The man was assaulted resulting in injuries to his face and arms. The raiders left the house at approximately 7 o'clock taking a small amount of cash and stealing a blue Toyota Hi-Ace van.
The injured man is being treated in Tallaght Hospital.
