Man held over dissident activity

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Co Tyrone this morning by members of the PSNI Serious Crime Branch.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Co Tyrone this morning by members of the PSNI Serious Crime Branch.

The man was arrested in relation to suspected dissident republican activity and was taken to Antrim Police station’s serious crime suite for questioning.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man was charged in North Belfast for making, causing and possessing explosives with intent to endanger life and damage property on two occasions.

The man was arrested in the Newtownabbey area yesterday morning.

The charges relate to pipe bomb attacks on the home of community worker Mary Kelly in the Glandore Avenue area of the city last June and April.
