The case of a German national who raped his nine-year-old stepdaughter in Dublin was adjourned yesterday to February 10th.
The 54-year-old man was remanded in continuing custody by Mr Justice O'Higgins at the Central Criminal Court.
Last year the defendant pleaded guilty to one charge of raping the girl during June 1996 and one of sexually assaulting her in August 1995.
He had originally denied eight charges of rape and sexual assault, and a jury was sworn in to try the case. However, he pleaded guilty to the two charges before the case opened.
