Man held in Antrim by fraud police

A man was arrested in Co Antrim today by a special police unit investigating credit fraud.

A man was arrested in Co Antrim today by a special police unit investigating credit fraud.

Documents were also seized during a search operation in the Lisburn area by officers from the Economic Crime Unit.

The unit is investigating fraud believed to involve obtaining goods using false credit references.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Peter Warrick from the Economic Crime Bureau advised retailers to ensure proper credit checks are taken out on new suppliers before lines of credit are extended on good supplied.

He urged anyone with any information about such a type of crime to contact the fraud unit.
